This shift towards recommending a three-drug regimen for<br>everyone was based on the availability of less toxic and better-tolerated medications.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Recommended PEP regimen:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-table\"><table><tbody><tr><td>Drugs combination<\/td><td>Recommendation for PEP<\/td><td>Duration<\/td><\/tr><tr><td>Tenofovir (TDF) 300 mg +<br> Lamivudine(3TC) 300 mg + <br>Dolutegravir (DTG) 50mg<\/td><td>Once-daily<\/td><td>4 weeks<\/td><\/tr><\/tbody><\/table><figcaption>DTG is recommended as the preferred third drug for HIV post-exposure prophylaxis.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">When available, Atazanavir, Darunavir, Lopinavir, and Raltegravir may be considered as alternative third drug options for post-exposure prophylaxis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"background-color:#fff6c2\"   <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">2. <strong>MTP AMENDMENT BILL 2020<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Medical Termination of Pregnancy (MTP) Amendment Bill 2020 states that for MTP to be done, the opinion of <strong>one registered medical practitioner<\/strong> is required for pregnancy up to<strong> 20 weeks <\/strong>of gestation.<br>The opinion of <strong>two registered medical practitioners<\/strong> is required when the length of the pregnancy exceeds <strong>20 weeks<\/strong> but does not exceed <strong>24 weeks<\/strong>.            <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The upper gestation limit for MTP which was twenty as per MTP act, 1971, has been <strong>increased to twenty-four weeks<\/strong> in this bill.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Note<\/span>: The bill has been passed by the Lok Sabha and is tabled at the Rajya Sabha for <strong>BLINDNESS DEFINITION (WHO):<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>WHO<\/strong> has recently revised the definition for blindness. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The term \u201cvisual impairment\u201d now includes moderate and severe visual impairment as well as blindness. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Moderate visual impairment is defined as a presenting visual acuity in the range from worse than 6\/18 to 6\/60<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Severe visual impairment is defined as a presenting visual acuity of worse than 6\/60 and equal to or better than 3\/60. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As per the new definition, <strong>blindness<\/strong> is defined as a <strong>presenting visual acuity <\/strong>of worse than<strong> 3\/60<\/strong> or a corresponding <strong>visual field loss<\/strong> to less than <strong>10\u00b0<\/strong> in the better
